Kansas Aviation, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Yingling Aircraft, Inc. in Wichita, now has the Cessna Model 162 Skycatcher available for flight training and rental. Earlier this month, the aircraft was delivered to a retail customer, Bravo Sierra Group, LLC, which is leasing the aircraft to the flight school for use in its Cessna Pilot Center (CPC).  The two-place Light Sport Aircraft (LSA) is available at a fueled rate of $98 per hour. There's a tax break in the Stimulus Package for Aviation

Congress has approved a tax break in the Stimulus Package to help businesses buy planes. 

Rep. Todd Tiahrt, R-Goddard, says "This is exactly the type of financial incentive that should be included in a stimulus bill". The plan reduces the upfront tax bill for companies who buy corporate assets such as planes.

"We think it's time the other side of the story be told and that support be given to those businesses with the good judgment and courage to use business aviation to not only help their businesses survive the current financial crisis, but more quickly forge a path toward an economic upturn," Cessna Chief Executive Jack Pelton said in a news release.

Cessna is planning to launch an ad campaign squelching the idea that business jets are a luxury. Cessna said the campaign will begin with "pro-business theme" advertisements in national business newspapers and magazines as well as aviation trade publications.

Wheeler Airport Receives Perfect Inspection for Second Consecutive Year!

In a News Release dated December 29, 2008, the Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport (MKC) has received a perfect certification inspection! The evaluation found MKC to be fully compliant with Federal Aviation Regulation Part 139, the Airport Certification Manual and the Airport Operating  Certificate. www.flymkc.com

Having undergone a major refurnishment, more improvements are planned for the airport.  The $17.3 million hangar project on the northwest portion of the airfield is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2009.  Home to ATD Flight Systems, up to 700 aircraft per day take off or land at the airport-everything from single-engine propeller craft to sleek corporate jets.
